The Voice You Trust
EDITION 7 ⢠November 2026
Dear Beautiful Soul,
In October you found your voice. This month asks a quieter question, and a harder one: when it speaks, whose voice is it, and do you trust what it says?
A woman who holds a full life is rarely short on answers. You have read rooms, weighed outcomes, and made decisions for other people for years. But a life this full is also a loud one, and the knowing beneath it has to compete with a great deal of well-meaning noise.
Several voices can sound like intuition. Anxiety is fast: it arrives with urgency, speaks in what-ifs, and wants to be soothed or obeyed right now. Conditioning speaks in should; it is concerned with how things will look, and it borrows the language of responsibility. The inherited voice has a cadence you may recognize, because it once belonged to someone else. A knowing often feels different. It can be brief, and it rarely needs to argue its case. Even when what it says is hard, it is unhurried, and something in the body settles, like a breath finally let go. Your body will have its own signature, and learning it is the work.
Discernment is not overthinking. Overthinking circles the same question with the same information and calls it diligence, and women who have been rewarded for analysis will often analyze a knowing until it goes quiet. Discernment gathers what it needs, asks once, and then listens.
That is what prayer and meditation are for. Not only the speaking, but the stillness afterward, with whatever name you give the One who is listening back. Spiritual authority is not the volume of your certainty. It is your willingness to wait for what is true, and to let it be quieter than you expected.
What becomes possible is a life guided less by the loudest voice in the room and more by the clearest one. It is heard in stillness.
So here is my invitation. This week, choose one small decision, nothing that would turn your life upside down. Ask once, in prayer or in quiet, and write down the very first thing that arrives, before the reasons do. Don't act on it yet. Just notice, over the next few days, how it holds. Trust is built this way: in small things, one at a time.
With truth, with care, and with unwavering belief in the power within you,

Discernment Is Not Overthinking
Overthinking returns to the same question with the same information and calls the repetition diligence. Discernment gathers what it needs, then stops, and what it says tends to be short. A useful tell: if nothing new has arrived since the last time you asked, the loop is not analysis. It is a search for reassurance.
Micro-practice: The Tone Test
Write down the thought that keeps circling, then read it back and listen for the cadence. Does it sound like you, or like a parent, a former boss, a younger version of you who needed to stay safe? You are not required to argue with it. Simply name whose it is.
Body ā Physical Rhythm
The vagus nerve, which links your gut, heart, and lungs to your brain, is thought to carry more signals up to the brain than it sends down. Interoception, the sensing of those internal signals, appears to shape intuitive decision-making, helping or hindering depending on what the signals are tracking. Your body is always speaking. Learning to distinguish a knowing from a stress response is the practice.
Micro-practice: The Settled Question
Before a decision, lengthen your exhale for one minute, then ask the question and notice what your body does: widens, tightens, quickens, or goes quiet. Neither a tight nor a relaxed response is a verdict. You are learning your own signature. If sensing inward feels unsettling rather than informative, stay with the breath and bring a trusted practitioner alongside. This is an invitation, never an assignment.
Soul ā Spiritual Authority
Ask Once, Then Listen
Many of us were taught to pray by speaking: petitioning, thanking, explaining. Some of us were never shown the second half, the silence afterward. The psalm puts it plainly: "Be still, and know that I am God" (Psalm 46:10). Discernment as a spiritual practice is not performing certainty; it is listening long enough for what is true to arrive, and letting it be quieter than you expected.
Micro-practice: The Listening Minute
After you pray, or sit in stillness in whatever way is yours, ask your question in a single sentence and then say nothing for one minute. End with thanks and gratitude whether or not anything arrives; some answers come hours later, in the middle of an ordinary task.

SOS WELLNESS RETREAT SPOTLIGHT
One island that welcomes your whole self. Five intentional days for a select group of 14 women ready to come home to themselves. On Grand Anse Beach, with breathwork, movement, and daily alignment sessions I lead personally, there is enough unhurried quiet for the voice beneath the noise to finish its sentence.
The work begins before you arrive. Eight 1:1 coaching sessions with me are included for every guest. You schedule them once your place is held. The days then move from arriving to flowing, and what you carry home is stillness, connection, and a steadier trust in your own knowing, to live in the life waiting for you at home.
If you have been quietly circling this one, ready in every way except the saying of yes, I would love to hear what is stirring for you. If something in you softened while reading this, notice it. Book a Retreat Discovery Call, or write to me at [email protected], so we can begin the conversation.
Upcoming Events & Experiences
